2026Lasker Medical Research Awards
The Lasker Awards are the most prestigious biomedical honors in the United States. Officially named the Albert Lasker Medical Research Awards, they rank second only to the Nobel Prize in the medical field, recognizing scientists, physicians and public service professionals who have made exceptional contributions to medicine.
Originally, the Lasker Awards comprised three categories: Basic Medical Research Award, Clinical Medical Research Award and Public Service Award. A Special Achievement Award was introduced later. The first two categories exclusively honor scientists, and their recipients frequently go on to win the Nobel Prize within the following several years, earning the Lasker Awards the reputation as a "bellwether for the Nobel Prize" in the medical community. The Lasker Awards also serve as a chronological record of advances in global biomedical research.
